Taylor Portela is a queer nonbinary poet and performer who received their MFA in Creative Writing from Virginia Tech and now calls Oregon home. After graduating from the University of Michigan in 2014 with a B.A. in Philosophy and English Literature and Language, they lived in Washington, DC, worked as the Special Assistant to the President and CEO of a tech policy and advocacy nonprofit, and performed in drag. They currently work as a Practice Coordinator at a financial services firm. Taylor’s writing has appeared in The Adroit Journal, Fence, Juked, WUSSY Mag, and elsewhere.
